Smoothie bowls: yay or nay? I LOVE them, which is obvious based on the number of smoothie bowl and acai bowl recipes I’ve posted! I love these bowls and they replace ice cream every day of the year! So would you rather spoon down a fluffy smoothie bowl and drink it down a straw?
I have seen many smoothie bowl recipes that are never the right thickness. You must remember that a smoothie bowl is like soft serve. NOT ice or water. 🙂
To achieve the perfect smoothie bowl you must have the correct ratio and perfect flavors. I have found a way to make my bowls super fluffy, creamy and thick! You will love this recipe! PS. I also show you how to make a beautiful scoop and swirl in the blender! 🙂
How to get a fluffy and creamy smoothie bowl?
- Bananas: Bananas are what make this smoothie bowl creamy and fluffy.
How to prevent Chunks or fruit:
- Blend it for longer
- microwave frozen fruit for 10 seconds (no more than that)
- blend with the blender cap hole open for a minute while blending ( be careful)
How to get a beautiful swirl and scoop:
- Make sure that there are no chunks then blend for a minute
- do not over blend for a thick smoothie
- For the perfect smooth scoop run a large spoon over the smoothie surface, until the nice cream rolls into a perfect scoop 🙂
How to get a thick bowl:
Most people drink regular smoothies so it may be hard to get a perfectly thick bowl. So how do you do this?
- Use frozen fruit, no frozen fruit, no thick bowl 🙁
- Use the least amount of liquid as possible
- blend only until smooth and no longer
- enjoy right away
Can this be Ice cream?
Yes, it can. This recipe replaces ice cream, just freeze it for some more and will get a healthy frozen ice cream! How tasty!
Now that you know everything it is time for the recipe!
