What frosting?
You can use any frosting you would like. When this recipe was original given to me the frosting required:
- pastry cream
- and a Cadbury chocolate bar.
You can really customize the frosting to your liking. I like using whipped cream and adding some chocolate powder as well as some optional Nutella. Let me know what your favorite frosting is.
Coffee
This recipe requires a strong coffee. This not only intensifies the chocolate flavor, but also the color! I just brewed some strong coffee in my Keurig coffee machine. You can also use powdered coffee packets of brew any coffee you like. Just use a very strong coffee. I promise you won’t notice it. Even the coffee haters and kids in my family liked this recipe!
Decoration.
You can decorate this cake in any way you would like. My friends and family requested a very simple cake with minimal decor. You can choose to make a spiral in the frosting or toping with fruit, sprinkles, flowers and more, this truly is a delicious recipe for all occasions.
